FEMA Building Vulnerability Study

FEMA funded a Natural Disaster Vulnerability Study for major laboratory, dormitory, and sports arena structures at the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. Atlas Engineering identified wind, seismic, and flood vulnerabilities for nine buildings, and provided cost estimates for upgrades with high-payback in reduced disaster costs. Services included detailed fieldwork by structural, roofing, and cladding experts as well as comprehensive reports with cost-effective repairs and upgrade options. Atlas set the standard of work for subsequent work by other firms.
