Governor Charles B. Aycock Birthplace Historic Site Visitor Center Roof Replacement
North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources | Freemont, NC
PROJECT DETAILS
The existing asphalt shingle roof and modified bitumen roofs were removed and replaced with temporary roofs during construction. A standing seam metal roof was installed over the 3:12 roof sections at the north side of the building. At the south sections, retrofit metal framing was secured through the existing roof decks to the existing wood and steel framing to support the new 1:12 standing seam metal roof system. Existing gutters and downspouts were removed and replaced with new components as a part of the overall system assembly. Existing T1-11 siding and vinyl soffits were replaced with sheet metal wall panels and soffit panels.
