Moore Building Roof Replacement

Western Carolina University | Cullowhee, NC

PROJECT DETAILS

The Moore Building is a three-story building with steep-sloped roof areas totaling approximately 16,480 square feet. The building houses the Health Science, Nursing, and Physical Therapy Departments and contains classrooms, laboratory and office space. Originally constructed in 1922 with building additions and renovations in 1929, 1977, and 1994, the scope of work included replacement of the existing shingled roof system with a new shingled roof system, replacement of the copper built-in gutter lining, restoration and joint sealant replacement at the perimeter cornice, and installation of a new fall protection system.

Atlas performed multiple site visits during each phase, involving hours of travel from the office in Raleigh to the campus in Cullowhee, from design consultation through to close out.
