Science and Technology Building Roof Replacement

East Carolina University | Greenville, NC

PROJECT DETAILS

This project involved removal of the existing Stevens Roofing Membranes at the Breezeway of the Science and Technology Building as well as the adjacent Cooling Tower. Both of the roofs were torn off to the existing concrete decks. New insulation, a coverboard, and a FiberTite Membrane were installed. During the first day of tear off, Curtis Construction was unable to get the insulation adhesive to stick to the concrete deck due to the outside temperature being too cold. As a result, Curtis Construction torched down a Modified Bitumen membrane over the area until they were able to install the fully designed roof system a few months later once the temperature was higher.
